A Country Life, a Simple and Good life!
The Joy of being a Florida Southerner
We are a people raised among simple joys — orange groves, country roads, family gatherings, and faith-filled traditions. An upbringing shaped by love for everyday people and meaningful moments.
This exhibition reflects the heart of People Art & Company: honoring ordinary lives that carry extraordinary value.
Drawings that celebrate farmers, workers, migrants, and Florida Amish communities, and those whose
wealth is found not in money, but in connection, labor, and shared experience. Rooted in memory
and observation, these works remind us that life’s greatest treasures are often found in the smallest,
most human moments. As we say, by the grace of God, I’m a Southernah!
Life is made of little things - and those little things matter most. Thank you for sharing this moment with me I hope you enjoy these works as much as I enjoyed creating them.
And for those of you who know me, my Dad Thurman Thompson lived in Sanford, Florida. My Grandmother Rebecca Thompson lived there and my Aunt Mattie Davis as well. Sometimes my Aunt Ella would come down from Jacksonville. So, I spent many days in and around Sanford, not to mention Uncle Buddy had a farm there. It was a good life and Grandma had a cute dog name "Diddy-bite."
